Just a little shout out.

I just wanted to put up pictures of the cutie pies that helped with the "A you're adorable" song.
Love you!

A you're Adorable

This is a picture from May 1, 2010. The reason I am using this picture is because of the paci. I am not a huge fan of the binky and didn't want to use it at all but as you can see Lee did. One of the many times I have visited UT the Haws kids helped me make up a song with the letters from this pacifier.

Here it goes:

A you're adorable
D you're delectable
O you're the octopus of my eye
R you're not a rats nest
A you're not an a arachnid
B you're a butterfly in flight
L you're so lick able (SLURP)
E you're so edible
That is the song for my child.

I sing it to him all the time even though the plug is long gone.
Thanks Talon, Tayson and Tessa!

Go Broncos!!!

My girlfriend Jess is determined to make Lee a Broncos fan and I am just great with that. Since the Broncos played (and lost =< ) on Sunday I decided to dress both Lee and Carrie in their jerseys. I sent Jonathan a picture and his comment was "Looks like a quarter-back in training." I have to agree!

I hate being sick!

Both Lee and I came down with a nasty cold. We had fevers and snotty noses. A week later we are both still feeling the effects. The second day of all of this it seemed that Lee had 20x the energy that I did so I put him in the playpen with some toys. That way I didn't have to chase him quite as much. He lasted for about 30 minutes which is what I expected. The nice thing about Lee being sick is that he wants to cuddle. I don't get that most days.

Riding the Amtrak

For the first 4 1/2 years I lived in Colorado I didn't own a car. When I wanted to visit my family I either had to borrow a car or ride the train. I have come to love the train. Now I get to share the experience with Lee. We have ridden the train twice now. Lee seems to love it as much as I do.

Bath time

Lee loves water! He will hangout in the bathtub for as long as I will let him. He loves to splash and can make quite a mess. I am going to have to start bathing him in the big person tub soon.

Chewing but no teeth

Just thought I would share some cute pictures. Lee chews on everything but so far he doesn't have any teeth. Isn't he the cutest kid ever?

Trying again.

So here we go again. Lee almost 8 months now and boy can he move! He is crawling all over the place. Just this week he learned how to crawl up the stairs and pull himself to standing. NOT a good combination. He is one determined little guy! There are a few things he will "run" for: the open door to the deck, exposed wires, flashing lights (the modem) and cell phones or remote controls. It is a little exhausting but a whole lot of fun.

Jonathan and I are doing great. Between the 2 of us we have 4 jobs =( but the bills are paid and Lee doesn't have to go to daycare. We just booked our tickets to NC and SLC. We will have a full 2 weeks off together. Bliss I tell ya!

SIck baby.

About 4 days ago Lee woke up fussy. He didn't want me to put him down anywhere. The next day he woke up with a runny nose and fever. Well today is going on 4 days and he has given it to me =( Here is a picture of the only place I was able to set him down.

For any of you that don't know Monkee, I have had him for 19 and 1/2 years. Monkee has traveled with me on almost every trip I go on and I still sleep with him. He used to have the softest white fur but it has gone gray in his old age. He has magnets in his hands and eyes so that he can play peek-a-boo.

It makes me very happy that my son loves Monkee almost as much as I do!

Sorry!

I was trying to do something new and I don't know how to fix it!!! Monica I need help please.

Memorial Day

On Memorial Day my whole family got together for a hot dog roast. I think the last time we were all together was Christmas. I guess I didn't take a whole lot of pictures because these are the only pics on my camera. I guess I was having a good time throwing sticks, chasing twins, roasting hot dogs, playing with the kids.

I love that Monica does fun things with Mariah's hair!!!

This was Ethan's first time meeting Lee. It is fun to see the oldest and youngest grandchild together. Ethan is such a sweetie, he held Lee for quite a while. Too cute!

If anyone has pictures of this day please email them to me.

The Races

This is when the trick bikes were revving their engines. Lee was not a fan of the noise.

We had so much fun at the Miller Motor Speedway on May 30th! My parents went with us. We watched trick bikes, race bikes going 200 mph, ate a lot of junk food, saw friends of Jonathan's from NC and had an overall great time. It is too bad the race track is 7 hours away or we would be there every weekend.

Bike Night

As you can tell by Lee this is an old post. This was the very first bike night this year.

Monday night is bike night and it has also become our date night. I look forward to Mondays with my husband more then any other night of the week. Lee was so good the whole time we were there. He was happily passed around to lots of tough looking bikers but fell asleep as soon as he was put into my arms. That is until all the bikes revved up to leave, that is when he opened one eye to look around and then broke out in a huge smile. Boy are we in trouble!

Nightly walks

About 5 nights a week Jonathan and I load up the boy and go for a walk. This has become one of my favorite activities.

Rolling over

This is the surprised look on my son's face after his very first roll from back to tummy. Almost as soon as he rolled over he flipped himself back to his back. Then he was kind enough to do it again so that I could record it. If you go to youtube and search mandjowen you will find that video.

I'm not ready for my son to be mobile but I guess I don't have a choice =)

Hiking with the baby.

On Thursday Lee and I went for a hike with 2 other moms and babies. In total we had 3 moms, 3 babies and 4 dogs. We did the hike called mushroom rock up by Carbondale. It was my first hike since Lee was born. We hiked about 3 miles with lots of stops.

It was a great learning experience. Here is what I learned: make sure the binkie is on a leash or I'm going to be eating a lot of dirt. Lee needs a hat that fits or it will just spin and make him angry. Take at least 1 diaper because you know someone is going to poop. A hot baby = angry baby. Wet wipes are the greatest invention known to man. Hiking wears Momma out but not baby so don't expect a nap as soon as you're home.

Overall it was a great time and we will be doing it again next Thursday.

Happy Birthday Heidie!

Heidie's birthday was Sunday. We threw her a surprise party Saturday. It was a whole lot of fun blindfolding her and driving her around. Lee was a great help with stalling not only did he have to be changed 3 times before we could leave but he also forgot his bottle, then his pacifier. He was such a good baby. He was passed around all night and smiled beautifully whenever someone new held him. He stole the spotlight! I have such a great kid!

Flowers for Tata and Mimi

Here are flowers for 2 of the most important women ever. Thank you to both of you for being such great examples. I appreciate the love and support you have shown us. I am a a better mother because of what great mothers you have been. I love you and am so grateful that I have both of you.
